Price is not the cheapest but selection and quality of plants is super. Available plants tend to be more mature than other nearby nurseries. If you want immediate impact on landscaping with mature plants, this is the place. You can also get paving suppliers here, many landscaping companies and paving companies also get supplies here as well.

Terrible service. I called on a Friday morning to order topsoil delivery. I was told I would get a call back. Never happened. I called the following Monday morning and was told the same thing. Never got a call. I called again and finally talked to one of the rudest sales people ever who seemed absolutely annoyed that she needed to take my money. I will never go there or call for an order again. I'd rather pay more and support other businesses.Edit:I just got off the phone with Des Plaines Material and Supply. It took at most 3 minutes for me set up the delivery of 3 cubic yards of topsoil and it will arrive far quicker than Lurvey offered. For a very slightly higher price, I received fantastic service and efficiency.

While this place has a great selection of flowers I am extremely disappointed with their customer service. If I could give this place a minus five stars I would. Asked for help and was ignored twice! I almost left with a sense that they dislike Hispanic people. Hispanics are not welcome at this place so don’t bother to shop. They only like Hispanic landscapers who are just picking up orders and not staying in their property. I was looking for fruit trees and perennials for my yard and had to leave the store because I couldn’t find anyone to help me. What a disappointment! Plants aren’t cheap here either so do yourself a favor and look for another place. Otherwise, good luck especially if you are Hispanic.

I normally don’t give out review first time but I was so frustrated with Lurvey‘s me and my partner return a tree that was half dead by frost a 500.00 tree Lerveys gave us 50% warranty and for starts so we got a different tree another $250.00 first we were told 30 days warranty then at the cash register there’s is no warranty so the employees are not in the same page they made us very confused and Plus a delivery charge running the cost to $500.00 again but this time no warrantee not even 50% so I feel like we just throw our money away at Lurvey‘s

Went here to get plants/flowers for our patio and was not disappointed! This place is huge with a big indoor and outdoor area for plants. It also has a lot of plants to pick from and they seem to be well taken care of. If you're planning on going on a weekend it's now their busy season so parking may be difficult.

Everyone is super helpful and attentive every time I walk in here. Product quality is unlike big box stores, and delivery was quick, professional and worth the cost! The hardscape employees helped us tremendously when figuring out products needed, best to use, etc. There is so much to see here every time I shop, I see something new!

My mom used to shop here all the time for her flowers and then I just came here today to get a birdbath and I have to say it was the best customer experience I have ever seen three people came out to help me. One of the people that came to help me was Tom the manager of this location and I have to say he was very helpful friendly and overall the best example of a managerI will definitely come back here for anything else that I need and I recommend this place to anyone if they haven’t been there before

I drove 30 min away to purchase an item and couldn't get a price in an empty store with 5 associates in the building they offer to leave my name and number. I guess they don't want business 🤷. They are supposedly getting new items in season, yet I have seen the item thru the yrs. They could get a price What a waste of time!!! I came to Peaches flowers instead.

They have nice enough stuff but the experience here is horrible, often. Most recently, my wife bought something and I went to pick it up. One person in the service desk area and a line 5 deep. I ask a cashier to help me (two cashiers and no line in checkout). They say I have to wait in the service line. The cashiers stand around chatting while I wait 15 minutes.The item is right behind the service desk. Once I’m to the front it takes 1 minute. I think anyone can see the problem here, right?

Love this place. Not only is it beautifully laid out & maintained, but they carry quality products - bought all our landscaping here last year; river rocks, 8 red twig dogwoods, a viburnum Bush and a Japanese maple. Happy to report that they are all doing fantastic after their first Chicago winter! The staff is super knowledgeable - if they can't answer your question they will find someone who can. I also love that their experts are happy to answer questions and you never feel pressured to purchase anything. Top notch garden center all the way around. I will definitely be back!

Lurvey's is a nice nursery with a large selection of plants, trees, other garden items and more. It is often lightly staffed for the traffic, which is frustrating if you are trying to get help with purchase of a tree, but my wife and I have found nice plant material there. We just purchased a very pretty specimen B&B 7' Empire 1 Japanese Red Maple tree from them at a fair price. Retail prices are high but not out of line for our area and landscapers get a good discount. Lurvey's wants 150% of the retail purchase price of a tree to deliver and plant a tree, WAY out of line, but delivery price alone isn't unreasonable. In my experience, if you use a landscaper they can save you some money on the purchase price if they wish, and will deliver and plant for much less money Lurvey's. In the... case of our Japanese maple above, purchasing retail and having Lurvey's deliver and plant the tree would have cost over 3 times as much as my landscaper charged me to purchase at his price, pick up, deliver and plant the tree. I do recommend you check out Lurvey's if you are in the market for plants and trees and compare to other nurserys you like. Finding an especially nice specimen is a matter of looking around at different places and checking back often as they get new plant material every week, all season long.read more

Today I tried to buy bushes with my landscaper.I have never seen such a terrible and rude service with customers ever. As a result, they refused to sell bushes for us. Even one star is too much for them.

Really bad experience. We drove all the way out from Dupage county on July 3rd because the hours on their website and on Google said they were open until 5PM. Store cleared everyone and kicked us out shortly after we arrived at 3:05PM. Employee gave us some excuse about fireworks across the street but I suspect they just wanted to leave early. Needless to say, we will not be returning.Response to store: No, your holiday hours were not updated for July 3rd. We all checked our phones before leaving our house and even checked your website when we were told that the early closing was posted there upon our arrival. Your holiday hours were only reflected for July 4th.

Lurvey is a first rate business. Incredible & beautiful selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Unlike the big box stores all the plants are plentiful and full of color. Lovely furniture and many unique gift items. The staff is amazing. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and extremely helpful.

Limited trip for something specific but encountered many helpful and extremely knowledgeable staff. They carry really nice garden and patio furniture and accessories. They look expensive but they are the same or less on most of tge items I saw. Seems more of a landscapers paradise, but it is a great place for the home gardener.

Since Lurvey's opened in Des Plaines it is and will always remain my go to place for Gardening and Landscape supplies. The selection for annuals, perennials, scrubs, trees, hardscape, landscape, planters, fountains, pond materials, etc. are top notch. Also the trained staff make every trip and inquiry about our garden very helpful. Never disappointed and highly recommend!

I found out about Lurvey's a year ago when I won a raffle gift from there. The staff is very helpful and the greenhouse is top notch. All the plants are so healthy and beautiful. This garden center is lovely. I've been coming here for years (I live about an hour away, but stumbled upon this place due to work travel years ago...been making the yearly trek ever since!).

They must've renovated the inside recently because it's huge & has so much more to offer!
For example, there's a coffee station for customers.
They also have unique gifts for anyone on your list (pet lovers, gardeners, wedding showers, newlyweds, housewarming, the list goes on...)

They have fairy gardens, terrariums, koi ponds...and did I mention the gorgeous array of flowers & plants?!?

Lurveys is my go-to place for spikes (never seen any as tall as theirs). Their flowers are well-loved and tended to so they can be transferred right into your garden!

The staff is... plentiful & helpful too.

I'm pretty honest when it comes to my opinions, so I'm going to be honest with this last item as well. Lurveys is the type of place that you get what you pay for. If you covet unique, high-quality products for your home or garden (or for fun gifts), then be prepared to spend that little extra. But, the items are top notch & I've never had a problem with anything I've purchased there through the years (there are exchange/returns, if needed though).
Did I mention they have a complimentary loyalty program as well?! ($$ spent turns into $$ off).

Plan to spend at least an hour here (if it's your 1st time); so much to see, so much to buy, so many new ideas to gather! ❤️Lurveys!! 😊🌿🌺read more
