Lurvey sod

Our Sod is sold as rolls of 10 square feet (24” x60”) — There are 70 rolls per pallet (700 square feet) — Once the square foot area of turf needed is determined, divide by 10 and round to the next full number to get ‘Rolls needed’. Generally, it is a good plan to add an additional 5% to the total due to cuts and waste.

For more complex projects, draw the area and break down the area into sections for measurement. Then total the areas measured in square feet and divide by 10 to get the total rolls needed.

Area of a Square or Rectangle = Length x Width

Example: “b”ase is 15 feet and the “h”eight is 12 feet 15’x12’= 180 sq ft (resulting in 18 rolls)

Area of a Triangle = (Width x Height) divided by 2

Example: “b”ase is 8 feet and the “h”eight is 12 feet 8’x12’= 96, then divide by 2 = 48 sq ft (resulting in 5 rolls)

Area of a Circle = 3.14 x the radius squared

Example: the circle’s radius “r” is 9 feet (the radius is half of the diameter). Multiply 3.14 by the radius squared 3.14 x 9’x9’ = 254.34 sq ft (resulting in 26 rolls of sod)
