Come Alive Outside: A Non-Profit Working to Get People to Enjoy Being Outdoors

Here at Lurvey, we partner with organizations that strive to do good in the community. Come Alive Outside is a non-profit that strives to get people off the couch and outside to make memories that will last a lifetime. We at Lurvey have adopted this way of thinking, as it directly relates to our staff, our customers, our profession, and our outlook. We think the outdoors is a beautiful place to be and we want to encourage people to get out of the house and make new memories outside.

Come Alive Outside seeks to inspire people to get outside and subsequently live healthier lives. This organization supports healthy individuals, families, and communities enjoying the full benefits of great outdoor spaces where they live, work, and play. This non-profit wants everyone to get active outside whether that’s growing something they can eat, learning with hands in the dirt, connecting with nature, or playing unplugged.

Come Alive Outside hosts and endorses special events to get people to enjoy time outdoors. Design Challenges, 100 Miles, and Green Street are just a few of the ways that Come Alive Outside encourages making memories outside. Design Challenge creates the opportunity for college, high school, elementary and preschool students to work together with landscape professionals to design and build engaging outdoor learning environments at schools and childcare facilities. 100 Miles is a challenge to walk one mile a day for 100 days. Green Street creates temporary parks by laying down sod on prominent streets in towns across the country. This non-profit is committed to making going outside fun and engaging.

At Lurvey, believe in the ideals that Come Alive Outside stands for, and we have incorporated their ideas into our organization. We seek to partner with organizations like Come Alive Outside in order to encourage people to embrace their outdoor spaces and to share our love of the outdoors with the community. The company you keep says a lot about you, and we are proud that we keep company with Come Alive Outside.
