Have you ever gone to a place that feels like an oasis away from the stress and worry in life? I found one. It's the Lurvey Home & Garden Center. Yes! I never though it would be possible until I went there and, wow, this was such a relaxing environment that I immediately felt a wonderfully calming effect. It was unbelievable!

First, the shop portion of the center is both quaint and sophisticated in its offerings and provides the finest in planting materials, furnishings, fountains, plants, hardscape, home decor and other gardening merchandise. Everything is displayed masterfully, and it's impossible not to have a smile on while walking through it.

The massive indoor greenhouse is absolutely stunning with explosions of floral color everywhere one turns. It's simply breathtaking in the scope of selections and provides a phenomenal amount of flower star power that excites, enriches and revitalizes the senses --- especially after Winter doldrums.

This then extends into the exquisite, breathtaking, monumental outdoor garden which could easily rival its European counterparts in its grandeur. Magnificently distributed along walking paths with trees, fountains, outdoor decor and sitting areas, this floral Eden is certainly an oasis which is transportive in its elegance. Gorgeous annuals and perennials of every variety are given their showcase --- their place in the sun! --- to extraordinary effect, and the result is mesmerizing.

One will find everything needed to make their gardens and indoor/outdoor spaces "Better Homes and Gardens" front cover-worthy. All merchandise is reasonably priced and extremely accessible to make customers' creative dreams a reality.

I find myself sitting outside in the garden area on a beautiful summer day with my eyes closed just basking in everything around me: smelling the beautiful flowers as the breeze captures their essence and runs away with it; listening to the water cascading from the many fountains that grace the premises; feeling the sun surround me in its healing splendor. Oh, there's nothing like it. I found my paradise! All Lurvey would need to do is serve frozen strawberry daiquiris to turn this into Mount Olympus!

Yet, it's not just Spring and Summer that fills that space in my heart at Lurvey. Fall and winter also bring a jaw-dropping array of eye candy as the seasons change and reveal their own glory. Holiday is the perfect time to make Lurvey ones "go-to" spot for finding ideal decorations that are not standard and boring by any means. No, this is showstopper material that would make any event something guests would never, ever forget. Count on it!

In saving the best for last, I must compliment the amazing staff that makes Lurvey the "Rolls Royce" of garden centers. Friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable, the staff go above and beyond to make their customers feel like guests in their home while providing impeccable service and attention to detail. The staff love what they do, and it shows --- beautifully!

One staff member, Jeanne (hopefully, I got her name correct), is aways a joy each and every time my friend and I see her. She is an ideal ambassador for Lurvey and deserves to be recognized for it. But, as I said, the entire staff and grounds people always greet me with a "hello!", radiant smiles and a genuine desire to assist. They are simply the best!!!

Lurvey Home and Garden Center is a MUST for anyone who seeks to transform their gardens and indoor/outdoor spaces into showplaces to be enjoyed and cherished like never before.

I recently purchased a gift card for my Brother and Sister in law’s 50th Wedding Anniversary, knowing they were already working with landscape designers at Lurvey, I thought it was a great idea, they were thrilled with their gift and already are busy planning their Spring garden! Thanks, Lurvey!

First went to Lurveys as part of a benefit for Wright Way Rescue in Morton Grove. I came back the next day with my husband because of the great sale that was being held, and we left with one large plant, and 4 large pots. Would definitely come back in the spring for more purchases.

Love this plant nursery. They offer so many kinds of plants, and they are maintained beautifully. Most of all, they have several people on staff just to answer your questions, so it's very rare that I need to wait when I want to ask questions. Also, they are SO knowledgeable!!

Lurvey’s is completely worth the 20-25 miles you may travel to get here. The selection and quality of their hard and soft scape is remarkable. Super helpful staff, very knowledgeable. If you want something unique for a space or whole yard, you’ll find it here. Highly recommend!

I love to shop at Lurvey

They have everything you want for your garden; flowers, plants, soils, rocks, pots, outdoor furnitures, etc. Furthermore, their staffs are very helpful and knowledgeable. They can help you find flowers and plants you want. They can explain how to take care each flowers and they also can recommend good plant that suit your needs.

All seasonal flowers are available both annual and perennial. Literally any flowers you want they have them all.

I like to buy my plants and flowers here. The price might be a little higher than other places but I’m confident that I get good and healthy flowers. I noticed that the roots are much more healthier than other places. It’s good for replanting in your garden.

I highly recommend to apply to be royalty member. You will get update emails about all the promotions and tips how to take care your plants. I always get discounts here and there when I shop there.

Updating my review to 5 stars because Lurvey has knocked it out of the park when it comes to their service. No more concerns about grumpy people at checkout for me. Everyone throughout this store is helpful and pleasant and kind.

I love this store! I find myself there at least twice a week to buy perennials, shrubs, houseplants, and even early this season I purchased trees. Without a doubt the quality of the plants are exceptional. My only concern is the grumpy older woman who is a cashier. I've had the unfortunate experience of getting her three times in the last month and she has the personality of a thumbtack. The first encounter I asked for two cardboard trays for the several plants I purchased so they could sit upright in the car. She told me there weren't any. I could clearly see there were several made up trays on a table but she told me I could only have a plastic sheet. When I explained the trays would prevent the plant containers from tipping over, you would have thought I was asking for free money. She begrudgingly gave me two boxes. She is so unpleasant that the next time I will wait until another cashier is available just so I don't have to encounter her again. The other cashiers at least know how to engage with customers.

First time I tried Lurvey. Pleased with service and delivery. Had 100 impatiens delivered. Waited a month to post this review and have to say I’m disappointed with some of the product. I plant these every year and one color batch just isn’t doing anything. I’ve tried loving them but I’m not getting the love back. Bought other flowers and those are all okay. But will have to reconsider if I’ll try having flowers delivered. So mixed review.

Lurvey's is a must for any homeowner who wants high quality plants and hardscape bundled with the friendliest staff around.
We were relandscaping the entire front of our home and Lurvey's was our one stop shop. We got advise on shrubs, sunlight needs, and even how to protect new plantings from the lovable cicadas.
We are extremely happy with the outcome and much appreciated the service and selection at Lurvey's.

Several years back we had a bluestone walk installed and recently I ran out of the bluestone screening that we used to replace between the stones when we needed it. Lurveys no longer carried it at the Des Plaines store, but Dave, from the hardscape desk, made arrangements to not only drive it from the Gurnee area to the Des Plaines store, but also delivered it to our door in Arlington Heights, at absolutely no additional cost. If I could give Dave 10 stars I would. Lurveys is amazing, and Dave deserves a raise. Thanks Dave!

Since Lurvey's opened in Des Plaines it is and will always remain my go to place for Gardening and Landscape supplies. The selection for annuals, perennials, scrubs, trees, hardscape, landscape, planters, fountains, pond materials, etc. are top notch. Also the trained staff make every trip and inquiry about our garden very helpful. Never disappointed and highly recommend!

I found out about Lurvey's a year ago when I won a raffle gift from there. The staff is very helpful and the greenhouse is top notch. All the plants are so healthy and beautiful. I often go here to just look around their store and I always walk out with something! It's worth the trip, check it out...
